Over the course of 28 years, CanalWay Partners has recruited 19,108 volunteers who have helped extract and recycle 24,044 illegally discarded tires and picked up for disposal 623 tons of trash. In 2017 alone, 750 volunteers removed over 39 tons of trash, including 319 tires. In 2015, we added a new graffiti clean-up component to RiverSweep to help beautify the area.
RiverSweep draws from across the area, students, activists and members of the business community all work together to clean our shared backyard.
Volunteers must sign a waiver before they participate, download the waiver, additional waivers will be available at your clean site location. Children under the age of 16 must have the waiver signed by an adult. The first 700 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt- all will get gloves and bags.
