It’s been two years since our Pep Club Dance Party has had a chance to do our thing so we’re putting together an impromptu version of our annual cheer zone for the Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon runners tomorrow, May 22, from 7:45 a.m. to about 9:30 a.m.

The courses have changed from previous years so instead of locating near The Harp or Brick & Barrel Brewing, we’ll be locating at the corner at the top of Franklin Hill and 25th St. (get map) in Ohio City. This location is roughly at the 9.5 mile mark for both the half and full marathon. The pace chart puts the lead runner coming through our cheer zone at 7:47 a.m., average runner at 8:37 and the lanterne rouge at 9:21.

We’ve been an annual tradition for a decade but the ONE thing we ALWAYS need is YOU! That is, we’ll provide the “venue” and music, you come with your noisemakers, funny hats, motivational signs and the like. Like any party, the more guests the more fun right?! So invite your pals and come out to the return of the Cleveland Marathon! If you’ve never cheered a marathon, it’s surprisingly good fun and the runners are tremendously appreciative. And yes, we’re a rain or shine gig so don’t let a little dampness stop you from joining us!
