Slow River: View from Shooters of Cleveland Air Show Scrum on the Cuyahoga River at NS1

We dig into the archives for this week's third installment of Slow River: The day was the 2018 Cleveland Air Show viewed from Shooters on the Water. The Cuyahoga River scene captures the interplay between recreational boat traffic and the Norfolk Southern Lift Bridge (AKA the "Iron Curtain"). Fans of paddleboarding will enjoy a cameo by two hearty paddlers near the end of the video. Enjoy!

BTW, the Cleveland Air Show returns to Cleveland September 4-6 for its traditional Labor Day blast. This year it will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

Also on a busy summer day I’d like to see a full cycle of the bridge near the mouth of the mighty Cuyahoga in operation.

The bridge is up. River traffic moving. Horns blast. Bridge goes down. Wait. Train rumbles through. More horns. Bridge goes up. Horns. River traffic resumes.
