Cuyahoga Falls Fest 2023

  • Sheraton Suites Akron Cuyahoga Falls (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

A Fun for All paddle fest focused on Downtown Cuyahoga Falls and the Upper Gorge of the Cuyahoga River. Paddlers, spectators, and photographers can enjoy themselves in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls, whether on the water or on foot, exploring the urban riverfront and growing variety of businesses.

The Cuyahoga Falls Fest is a grassroots gathering of experienced paddlers. Proper gear and training is necessary to tackle the Class 4+ rapids. Paddlers are encouraged to form their own groups, safety plans, and consider shuttle logistics if necessary.

Due to unforeseeable weather events and water levels, paddlers should consider alternative paddling options if the Upper Gorge conditions are not favorable for their abilities. If possible, the team at the City of Akron's Watershed Division may assist with a reservoir release for low water conditions.

You are invited to participate in the 2019 Ohio State Canoe, Kayak and Paddleboard Championships being held on July 27th, 2019 on the Grand River at Lake Metroparks: Grand River Landing 800 N St Clair Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077. It is a looped flat water course that begins and ends at Grand River Landing. There is plenty of water and no shallow areas, due to lake Erie's high water level, so kayaks with rudders will have no problems.

New for this year's race we are part of NALU's Lake Erie Series Paddleboard race schedule. You can visit nalusup.com/the-erie-series for more info. The Ohio Dept. of Natural resources Div. of Watercraft and the Lake county Sheriffs Dept. will monitor boat traffic and assure a safe race course.

Please see the race flyer for schedule of the days races. You can call or email me with any questions.

See you on the river!
