A Packed Weekend on Cleveland's Cuyahoga River & Lake Erie Waterfront

Fans of Cleveland's waterfront have more than a few options to spectate, participate and enjoy the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie this weekend!

Whiskey Island Stand-Up Paddleboard Race & Festival (Saturday, August 20, 7:30 am - 4 pm)

This third annual event that's hosted by Cleveland Matroparks and Nalu Standup Paddle & Surf provides a great opportunity for beginners and advanced racers to get their paddleboard on in a protected harbor on Lake Erie. Nalu's Bill Cochrane says the paddlefest offers something for paddleboarders and spectators alike. "We're working hard to provide a family friendly event that has something for everyone. Western Reserve Rowing Association Summer Rowing League Championship Regatta (Saturday, August 20, 8 am - 2 pm)

The annual battle for bragging rights for WRRA's once-a-week recreational rowing program is also the wrap of a 12 week season. Seasoned and novice crews will first compete compete in boat against the clock time-trials and then head-to-head racing begins around 12:30. Races will be held on the Cuyahoga River at the Cleveland Rowing Foundation.

The Flats Festival of the Arts (Friday, August 19 - Sunday, August 21)

The first arts festival held at the Flats East Bank features 150 local and notable artists working in ceramics, woodwork, photography and painting. The festival will support Cleveland School of the Arts, a specialty arts school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and H.E.L.P., a non-profit organization devoted to developing a pathway for children living in rural regions of Africa. 4th Annual Eagle Rowing Challenge (Saturday, August 20, 10 am)
