30 Photographs And One Video Of Our Earth Day Stroll along the Cuyahoga River

Each Earth Day we take a stroll along the banks of Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River to bear witness to the progress made along Cleveland's waterfront since the first Earth Day in 1970. Here are 30 photographs that include the groundbreaking for stage 3 of Canalways Partners Towpath Trail Extension Project and the 2nd annual Cuyahoga Falls Kayak Race

As we wrapped our Earth Day stroll at the kayak race, we spoke with Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Walters as he and others watched the Cuyahoga Falls Kayak Race from the Sheraton Suites Deck above the Cuyahoga River. The mayor gave an update on how the race has evolved and how he embraced urban kayaking as a tourism and economic driver for the local economy. There are some big changes coming for their downtown (and the future of this stretch of the Cuyahoga River!).
