A significant connector in Cleveland’s Flats district, the Center Street Swing Bridge will close the historic bridge spanning the Cuyahoga River to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project, slated to begin In mid-late July 2021 and wrap in July 2022.

Yesterday afternoon Surfrider Foundation Northern Ohio Chapter organized a clean-up of the Cuyahoga River ahead of tomorrow’s Head of the Cuyahoga Regatta. (HOTC). Paddleboarders assisted by The Port of Cleveland’s Flotsam pulled floating debris from the river while others gathered trash from the banks of the river.

  • The Tall Ships Festival Parade of Sail kicking off affairs on Thursday afternoon.

  • An open water swim at Edgewater Park hosted by North Coast Multisports that served as a tune-up for the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships returning to Cleveland August 9-10.

  • An SUP Yoga session with SUP CLE at Wendy Park.

  • A birds-eye view of recreational kayaks interacting with the freighter Sam Laud as it transited the lower Cuyahoga River (more on that in a future post).
